Granada es una de las ciudades más famosas del sur andaluz de España. Mi primera vez en Granada fue en 2012, fue solo por 36 horas, eso no fue excusa para no enamorarme totalmente, su influencia morisca lo hace casi mágico.Tenía muchas ganas de volver porque no tuve tiempo de ver la Alhambra, y de repente sucedió algo maravilloso conocí mi trébol de 4 hojas y en 2016 pasamos un fin de semana increíble en esta hermosa ciudad y, por supuesto, logré a visitar la Alhambra.
La decisión fue fácil para nosotros porque el quería ir a Andalucía y yo quería regresar. Alquilamos un increíble Airbnb en el barrio Albayzin el barrio árabe. La vista desde nuestro apartamento era espectacular, teníamos la Alhambra justo frente a nosotros y estaba exquisitamente decorado con influencias árabes. Las calles de Albayzin son empinadas llenas de casas blancas con lindas terrazas que recrean un ambiente muy encantador.
Armados con un mapa que nos dejó del propietario de nuestro Airbnb, exploramos la calle principal Gran Vía, la Catedral de la Encarnación de Granada, Plaza Nueva y nos dirigimos al Corral del Carbón para recoger nuestras entradas para la Alhambra.
Asegúrense de probar algo de comida árabe e ir al mercado, caminando todos esos callejones y admirando las lámparas, las telas y los detalles hechos a mano. Nosotros hicimos algunas cosas geniales, mi primer tatuaje de henna y nos hicimos un cartel con nuestros nombres escritos en árabe (amor, amor, amor)
Aquí están mis 5 recomendaciones:
1: Explorar el barrio del Albayzín
Caminar por las calles de ALbayzin y disfrutar de su belleza y encanto y detenerse para unas increíbles vistas de la ciudad y la Alhambra. Quedé sorprendida por el Albayzin, sus pequeñas calles se remontan a los tiempos de los moros sobre la ladera opuesta a la Alhambra, con coloridas puertas y flores que caen en cascada por las paredes encaladas, simplemente encantador.
2: Disfruta de la puesta de sol
Pueden ir al Mirador San Nicolas si quieren disfrutar el atardecer con vista a la Alhambra. Nosotros tuvimos suerte y pudimos disfrutarlo desde nuestra propia terraza, lo siento, necesitaba alardear un poco.
3: Visitar el mercado Alcaicería
La Alcaicería, sede del Gran Bazar de Granada, originalmente era una serie de calles entre Plaza Nueva y Plaza Bib-Rambla llena de puestos que vendían sedas árabes, especias y otros bienes preciosos, pero hoy en día Alcaicería alberga muchos puestos que venden principalmente recuerdos para los turistas, pero es un área rica en historia y cultura local, todavía repleto de mercancías exóticas e interesantes.
4: Visita la Alhambra
Se necesita reservar las entradas con anticipación, el sitio es extremadamente popular, y la entrada está estrictamente limitada a 6,600 visitantes por día, así que antes de reservar vuelos y alojamiento deben OBTENER SUS ENTRADAS PARA LA ALHAMBRA, así que asegúrense de comprar sus boletos en línea.
La Alhambra es la joya más importante de la influencia morisca de Granada, llegamos a Granada preparados para amar a la Alhambra y así lo hicimos. Los primeros edificios en el sitio datan del 889, originalmente era una pequeña fortaleza, pero la mayor parte de su magnificencia fue construida a mediados del siglo XIII por el emir nazarí Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar del Emirato de Granda quien construyó su actual palacio y paredes, el último florecimiento de palacios islámicos de Alhambra se construyó para los últimos emires musulmanes en España durante el declive de la dinastía nazarí.
En todas partes hubo detalles que llamaron la atención, desde hermosos azulejos a piedra tallada con hermosos patrones. Fue increíble El Patio de los Leones, es verdaderamente sorprendente, con una fuente central que también era una increíble hazaña de ingeniería hidráulica: cada hora el agua salía de una de las bocas de los leones. El palacio se interna en los jardines árabes aquí nos pasamos por lo menos una hora más o menos caminando entre los extensos jardines y tomando fotos.
La Alhambra es ahora una de las principales atracciones turísticas de España y muestra de la arquitectura islámica más importante y reconocida del país. La Alhambra es un Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO. La Alhambra es hermosa y estará en mi mente y mi corazón para siempre.
5: Arte callejero de Granada
Me quedé impresionada por la variedad de arte callejero que hay en Granada, puedes encontrarlo por toda la ciudad, solo necesitan mantener los ojos bien abiertos y estar atentos.

Granada is one of the most famous cities in Andalusian Southern Spain. My first time in Granada was in 2012, It was only for 36 hours but I was totally in love, it´s Moorish influence makes it almost surreal. I wanted to go back so bad because I didn’t have time to see the Alhambra, and suddenly something magical happened I met my shamrock and in 2016 and we got to spend the most amazing weekend in this beautiful city and of course I got to see the Alhambra.
It was an easy call for us because he wanted to go to Andalucía and I wanted to go back. We rented an amazing Airbnb in the Albayzin the Moorish quarter. The view from our apartment was spectacular we had the Alhambra just in front of us and was exquisitely decorated with Arab influences. Albayzin streets are hilly and full white houses with cute terraces for a very charming atmosphere.
Armed with a map that we got from the landlord of our Airbnb we explored the main Street of Gran Via, the Granada Cathedral of the Incarnation, Plaza Nueva and headed to the Corral del Carbón to pick up our Alhambra tickets.
Make sure you eat some Arabic food and go to the market, just walking those alleys and admiring all the lamps, the fabrics and the handmade details. We did some pretty cool things I got my first henna tattoo and a sign with our names written in Arabic (love, love, love)

1: Explore The Albayzín Quarter
Walk the streets of ALbayzin and just enjoy its beauty and charm, Stop for some amazing views of the city and the Alhambra. I was surprised in the best possible way by the Albayzin. Its small streets date back to Moorish times and wind over the hillside opposite the Alhambra, with colorful doorways and flowers cascading down the white-washed walls simply stunning.
2: Enjoy the Sunset
You can go to the Mirador San Nicolas if you want to catch the Alhambra view. We were lucky and got to enjoy it from our own terrace (I'm sorry I needed to brag a bit).
3: Shop at the Alcaiceria Market
The Alcaicería, home of the great Bazaar of Granada, originally was a series of streets between Plaza Nueva and Plaza Bib-Rambla bursting with stalls selling Arabic silks, spices, and other precious goods but nowadays Alcaideria hosts many vendors selling primarily souvenirs but it’s an area rich with history and local culture, still packed with interesting and exotic merchandise.
4: Visit the Alhambra
You need to book tickets in advance, the site is extremely popular, and entrance is strictly capped ar 6,600 visitors per day so before booking flights and accommodation GET YOUR ALHAMBRA TICKETS so make sure to pre-purchase your tickets online.
The Alhambra is the crowning jewel of Granada’s Moorish influence, we came to Granada primed to love the Alhambra and we did! The first buildings on the site date back to 889 it was originally a small fortress, but most of its magnificence was built in the mid-13th century by the Nasrid emir Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar of the Emirate of Granda who built its current palace and walls, Alhambra's last flowering of Islamic palaces were built for the last Muslim emirs in Spain during the decline of the Nasrid Dynasty.
Everywhere I turned detail caught the eye, from gorgeous tiles to stone carved with prayers and patterns. It was incredible to experience. The Court of the Lions it's stunning, featuring a central fountain that was also an incredible water engineering feat – each hour water would pour from one of the lion’s mouths. The palace exits into the gardens of the Generalife. We spent another hour or so walking among the extensive gardens and taking pictures.
It is now one of Spain's major tourist attractions, exhibiting the country's most significant and well-known Islamic Architecture. The Alhambra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Alhambra is gorgeous and it will be on my mind and heart forever.
5: Granada’s Street art
I was blown away by Granada’s variety of street art, you can find it all over the city you just need to keep your eyes open.
